Sports Betting Set to Grow In Michigan With New App

Parx Interactive app Michigan launch

The state of Michigan is starting to become a real force in the US sports betting industry, and the market is set to grow again on Monday.

The 14th online sports betting app is set to launch, adding even more competition to the state.

The Gun Lake Band of Pottawatomi Indians and Parx Interactive have partnered up for this newest sports betting app, and it was just recently approved by the Michigan Gaming Control Board. The app is set to go live at 9 a.m. on Monday, and it should see a flood of new accounts when it is finally offered.

The Gun Lake Band appeared to be in a race with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe to become the 14th option in the state, and it got to the finish line first. The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe has already received license approval, but a launch date has not yet been announced.

In order to offer sports betting in Michigan, the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe has partnered with GAN to power the online app. That tribe owns and operates the Soaring Eagle Casino in the state of Michigan.

The Gun Lake Casino in Wayland is the home of the Gun Lake Band, and there has already been retail sports betting being offered at that site. That portion of sports betting launched way back in October, and Kambi has provided the odds and betting lines for that operation.

Parx might not be a big name in the state of Michigan yet, but that could soon change. The Parx Casino name is popular in the state of Pennsylvania, and there is a long history with this brand in both forms of iGaming.

There have already been some signs of the Parx Casino brand popping up in the state of Michigan, and those efforts are going to continue as this new site gets established. Parx was able to receive some advertising rights with the Detroit Pistons, and in-stadium signage could be seen during the previous NBA season.

Not a Popular Brand

This is not the first time that Parx and the Gun Lake Band of Pottawatomi Indians have worked together, as they have also teamed up for online casino gambling. That online casino first launched back in April, and this is another industry that has taken off in the state of Michigan.

Play Gun Lake is the name of the online casino that has been launched by this partnership, but it has not emerged as one of the top options in the state. The online casino has brought in just over $1.25 million in revenue through June, has paid the state more than $183,000.

Even though the big numbers have yet to come in for this online casino, that could change once sports betting is tied to the app as well. Play Gun Lake was able to bring in more revenue than PointsBet Casino and William Hill Casino last month, which signals that there is a solid base of customers.
